My top choices are Ravenwood, Calypso Oak, and Sweet. They carry colors that I haven't seen at any other stores but are on the Coretec website for European countries. I'm going to check out a few more floors at ProSource today. Many of the floors I liked were the 48 inch which I'm worried will be too short for my taste. The Sweet is 60 inches in length, which isn't too bad (though I prefer the 72). I saw an install pic of Medora and it was much darker than I'm looking for. It looked even lighter than Ravenwood in the store and was very gray with a busy pattern. I haven't seen Dupre but Noble Oak is one I liked. I think all of the light floors have an undertone and I actually prefer the pinkish red over the yellow/orange or yellow/green. It tends to only show that undertone when it's next to floors with more yellow. I love BM old navy, too! The Ravenwood is really growing on me. A natural looking mimic will do it's best to reproduce wood variation (especially mineral streaks). A wide plank wood product will have plenty of variation. I can spot a fake-vinyl wood if it looks TOO uniform or too boring. This is produced using a visual that is NOT as interesting/identifying as cathedral grain. One of the worst looks in vinyl flooring is a plank that looks so uniform it produces a striped floor (almost like zebra stripes). To me, cathedral grain is what tells me this is a beautiful piece of wood. I'm not fond of the more boring things like rift or quarter sawn grain. They give a natural look to faux products. The second situation has an easy fix.change the colour 'temperature' of your bulbs.Īs for the mineral streaks (called cathedral grains) are part and parcel of wood look products. The first is impossible to fix (natural lighting is natural.no way to fix it). Which situation is that? Is it NATURAL lighting or artificial lighting (like in a windowless hallway)? When you say "some lighting" things look yellow (or pink). Thank you so much to anyone that takes the time to read this and give advice! I'll post a bunch of pics of the floor samples in different lighting. I would really appreciate any advice on which color will give the look I'm going for. I also plan to paint the kitchen island BM Hale Navy. I plan to paint the walls white and have navy accent furniture/pillows. Again, no install pictures and I'm worried when it's all laid out that it will be the wrong shade. I thought this was definitely the one but in some lighting it looks super yellow. I loved the color Sweet and the style Timeless Luxury. No one has really heard of it and only and few stores carry it. I randomly came across Coretec Colorwall. It would bother me if the boards all looked the same with the big "swirl" (can't think of what it's called) down the middle. Also, not sure if the two boards I received are similar or if all the boards have the same grain pattern. It looks very white and washed out in some lighting. There are no install pictures online so I'm nervous. When I got the sample I thought it was the one but I worry it's too light or too red (the undertone is a reddish pink). I thought Calypso Oak by Coretec was the one but I prefer longer planks and more knots. I want to see some knots and a little variation to give a more realistic look. I'm looking for a natural oak but want something warm and not too busy. Hi! We are planning to install LVP throughout our new home.
